​Baby Room: 8 Weeks -2 Years

 

The baby room is designed to provide a calming atmosphere where babies can thrive with warm, supportive relationships with staff.

The routine in Baby room may vary for each child as we feel it is important to implement the parents daily routine at home, this will help to keep the children settled when attending Butterflies.

Toddler Room: 2 Years - 3 Years 

The Toddler room is our 2-3 years room. The Toddler Room is the next step in nursery. The children will start to develop more independence in this room but will still have the care and support from their key person. The toddler room follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) concentrating on the prime areas Physical, Communication & Language, and Personal, Social and Emotional development. The environment plays a big part of the learning in our toddler room. It is home like, educational and calming with lots of fun resources to encourage learning.

Children's personal routines from home are still followed in the toddler room but children start to adapt to the routine of toddler room and start to thrive in the environment.

Pre-School Room: 3 Years-5 Years

The Pre-School room is our 3-5 years room and is the next step your child's nursery journey. They will continue to develop more independence in this room and have more of an input into their own learning, whilst still have the care and support from their key person. The Pre-school room follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) covering the prime areas of learning: Physical, Communication & Language, and Personal, Social and Emotional development (the same as in the Baby and Toddler Rooms), and now also includes the Specific areas of learning of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) : Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive arts and design.

The indoor and outdoor environments play a big part of the learning in Pre-school. The routine of the session is helping to ensure the children are "school ready" through a wide variety of hands on activities, interesting challenges and first hand exploration of their environment.
